Theatrical
Art takes on many forms, if I’m painting, designing, taking photographs – or if I’m onstage, or writing. I’ve always been in love with the theatre, but did not really get deep into it until the early 1990′s – when I auditioned for, and got my first role in a local playwrights work and from then I was hooked. Sure, I had done the high school thing, but this was the real thing and I loved every aspect of it.
I began to write my own plays, design sets, direct and produce shows. The first play I wrote and directed (and accidentally starred in) was called Vampire Love. Having been a fan of Ann Rice and Vampire lore, I developed not only my own world of Vampires but it evolved into one of the first online interactive books with a branching story-line. I still plan on pitching this one to cable networks, especially in light of current shows like True Blood.
As anyone knows, theatre can eat up your life. Between the rehearsals and production schedules one show can easily consume one quarter of a year of your life – so make it a good one! I’m currently involved in a fantastic local theatre www.playersbythesea.org, a top notch community theatre. I’m also working with a local musical icon on writing my first full-fledged musical that we hope to stage next year and then take on the road, specially Chicago as the story takes place there.
