Theatrical Photography

Photography took on a greater meaning for me as a tool to photograph subjects that would later turn into paintings. In the early 90s’ I had just begun my love for acting and the theatre. As part of the “world of theatre” I had a unique opportunity to further my skills with unlimited subjects, as there would always be a theatre and production going on sometime, somewhere, from small cities to large. Many of the shows I acted in I also provided the photography for, but I also began taking photographs for many other theatres as well. Nashville Tennessee, Atlanta Geroge, then finally Florida where I know live.

Some of my most favorite images are typically not the ones used in promotional advertising or press, but lean towards the more creative side. I will usually stage many shots as set-ups for press releases, but then I will also attend final dress rehearsals in an attempt to capture more unique poses that capture the true feeling of a show’s content, but might not play as well in print.
